Description You are bidding on a 5 Gallon Bucket of Bonsai Soil Mix made at our Pine Island Nursery. We Style our mix after that of Jim Moody at Jupiter Bonsai. Its a great versatile mix that works wonderfully for all tropicals as well as junipers, pines, and other types of bonsai. We use the same mix in all our bonsai here at our nursery. THIS IS THE BEST SOIL VALUE ON EBAY!! The mix is composed of 3 parts: Lava rock, Turface, and Pine Bark. We wash the lava rock, and screen the pine bark prior to blending. This removes any fines that may cause excess water retention. The mix contains equal parts of each ingredient. The mix looks great in pots, the lava rock adds a nice red color to the mix. There is a nickel in the photo as a size reference. We will occasionally top out pots with straight lava rock to add a nice finished touch for displaying.
