In Southwest Ohio we were the original in 1972, and now we're the last one standing in the area. The reason we're still here after all this time is that we only stock items that our customers demand and deserve...products that have been tested and found to be of top quality and value priced. We don't try to pawn off stuff that doesn't work or some junk we're trying to get rid of. Also we know what we're talking about. We didn't stay in business all this time just by fooling customers. This time for your consideration... It's a Brand New Handcrafted 6 Drawer Pedestal for a Wood Frame Waterbed or Softside Waterbed or a Regular Mattress and Box Spring Bed . The photos give you an idea of the quality, but here's the full monte... Only one section is shown but you get 2 matched units. To be precise, they measure 11 3/4 " tall x 72" long (not 9 1/4" tall like the wimpy models that you might see in a store). What the salesperson won't tell you is this... Mass produced drawers fall apart in shipping. They're stapled together and made with the cheapest stuff that can be found. They even use cardboard for the drawer bottoms and cheap plastic drawer parts. We'll have none of that and you'll not get any of that from us either. We use alder pine IdeaBoard that is specifically made for cabinets and furniture. It's not just pieces of wood from a lumber yard... it's authentic butcher block. That is... individual pieces of solid wood are glued together to create the custom look. (Not particle board covered with paper to look like wood). All of the exposed edges are rounded to make them kid safe.The drawers measure 5 1/2" x 18" x 20" , have finger pulls on the bottoms, and the drawer glides are wood. The drawer bottoms are 5/32" birch/mahogany lauan and are strong enough to stand in. (We tried it and they held over 200 pounds. That's more weight than you'll ever put in them. Construction Details- The drawers have stops to keep them from falling out during normal use but they are easily removeable. (See photo #2). All wood intersections are reinforced with vertical and corner wood blocks that are glued and then fastened with special anodized screws that were produced from our design just for these units. Particle board, plastic parts and staples will not be found in these units. There's no assembly required. Just add 7/16" OSB or 1/2" plywood (not included) on top of these sturdy units... You and your waterbed will be ridin' high, wide and handsome. The decking is usually not necessary for a regular box spring and mattress set instead of a waterbed. The frame on the box spring needs to be strong enough to be secured underneath to the drawers with a couple of angle brackets. And here's the clincher...you're not limited to one color. The set shown is NUDE...LOOK OUT! ...but we'll make them any color stain that Minwax has available. And to protect the finish we spray them with a light coat (satin finish) of clear lacquer for just a little shine. The set we're showing is for a Super Single Size Waterbed (48" wide). To get a Queen size set (60" wide) we add 12" wide filler panels, and to get a King size set (72" wide) we add 24" wide filler panels. More info at the end of this listing. Super Single - $269.00 Queen - $289.00 King - $299.00 Not only are these original design units good looking but they're really functional for storing lots of little stuff that usually just lays around all over the place. Items such as toys, CD's, nick nacks, and maybe even clothes... it all fits nicely in the drawers to give you additional storage without actually taking up any more space in the room. And if that wasn't enough... wait there's more...here's a BONUS that you get only with these custom made drawers. Shhhhh.....Don't tell anyone... but there's SECRET STORAGE COMPARTMENTS... that only you will know about. If some ignorant jackass breaks into your home and ransacks the place... chances are that they won't find your most important items as they're resting comfortably somewhere under about a ton of water and wood. Good Luck finding it burglars. (We hope they get caught while they're looking for something that they're not gonna find). So let's put this all together... These babies are an Original Design produced in a Limited Edition and are created with real wood in your choice of color , it's a real space saver, it's a safe for your most important stuff, and as it's handmade by experienced craftsmen it will increase in value over time instead of turning into something that you'll set out at the curb soon. These units are nice enough and durable enough to hand on to someone else in the future. And finally, they're classified "green" due to the construction. A large tree doesn't have to be cut down to make them. These are the best... forget the rest. If you're looking for junk... this isn't what you're looking for. By the way, if you check prices on the junky ones, they're probably more expensive than these. Go Figure. These are crafted in Southwest Ohio near Cincinnati and are for pick-up only but we can arrange local delivery if requested.
