Description
nmim Store BRAND NEW LAGUNA PENDLETON BLANKET DescriptionLAGUNA BLANKET The Native American pueblo pottery tradition of the Southwest is an art form that has endured for centuries. The Laguna blanket is a tribute to the pottery motifs of Laguna Pueblo in what is now present-day New Mexico. The first pottery of the Southwest pueblo tribes was probably based on the basketry forms of the Anasazi, pueblo dwellers of ancient days thought to be the ancestors of several modern Indian tribes including the Hopi, the Zuni and the Pueblo. The Laguna Blanket is crafted in the traditional, dramatic three-color combination prevalent in Laguna pottery — shades of red, black and tan. It is centered with a vibrant geometric floral design inspired by images common in Laguna pottery. Curving shapes, flowers and leaves, circles, and star like are signature Laguna design elements. The blanket’s geometric border represents the pueblos themselves, the cliffs or adobe homes of Southwestern Native Americans. Unnapped. 82% pure virgin wool/18% cotton. Dry clean. Made in the USA. 64” x 80”. CLICK & PAY HERE
