(BASE FOUNDATION IS NOT INCLUDED) Any Standard King Size Box Springs or Select Comfort Base Foundations can be used under this mattress. The Base Foundation or Box Springs are inexpensive and readily available. The high value of Select Comfort Beds has nothing to do with the foundation, and is all about the mattress. The mattress can easily be set up on the floor, while you shop for a box springs or base foundation. This Mattress cover has never been used. It was no longer needed by the previous owner who sold it to us. We have had it stored in our home since then. *****We had purchased a couple of these mattresses all at the same time. We apparently got the top and the bottom of this mattress set switched with another mattress, because the zippers don’t line up exactly. There is approximately a one inch discrepancy in the length of the zippers. These miss aligned zippers create a slight “pucker” where the zipper ends. (See photo showing pucker.) Once a mattress pad and sheets are put on this bed, the mattress will look and feel totally normal. This flaw is a “Non-Issue” – considering what you would pay if you bought this mattress directly from Select Comfort.***** The Manufacturer Date on the Pump is 12-6-07. Any flat solid surface, like plywood sheets, that will support the weight can be used. They can also be placed on the floor, and in Recreational Vehicles which usually provide a platform surface for a mattress only. Select Comfort only honors the warranty to the original buyer, no exceptions. So I am sorry the warranty is not valid, but at least they believe their product will hold up for 20 years.
