The large handle insures accurate flow control and easy opening and closing.  No more finger twisting trying to turn those tiny stubborn valves. You can install it on the end of the hose next to the spray nozzle (it also works as a decent nozzle itself), or you can install it next to your home's wall spigot as a quick shutoff valve.  One quarter twist and the water's on or off. The handle is reversible.  All you need to do is remove the nut on top, turn the handle around, and put the nut back on. Nice rubbercoated handle for easy gripping.  Heavy duty brass construction will far outlast the hoses it's attached to.  This valve is a favorite of commercial users as well.  It will stand up to all kinds of physical abuse, and it saves precious moments if your business requires you to turn a hose on and off frequently. The Vermont Hose Nose was actually developed by a local refrigeration technician who needed a quick solution for testing ice makers.  He found that turning the water hose on and off was costing him a lot of time and inconvenience, so he figured out this solution so he didn't have to run to the faucet all the time.
